Labs & Radiology

Important Lab Policy

To ensure appropriate and complete testing, patients must first be evaluated by their provider before laboratory testing is ordered.

Lab orders are placed during your appointment after your provider determines which tests are necessary. We do not draw labs prior to your visit.

If fasting labs are required, you may:

  • Complete your labs after your appointment if you are already fasting
  • Return on another day while fasting
  • Complete testing at an outside laboratory covered by your insurance plan

This policy helps prevent incomplete testing and avoids the need for additional blood draws. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation.

FAQs
How should I prepare for my blood draw?

If your provider has ordered fasting labs, please do not eat or drink anything except water after midnight the night before your lab draw.

You may take prescribed medications with water unless your provider advises otherwise. Staying well hydrated can help make the blood draw easier.

How long does it take to receive lab results?

Most routine lab results are available within 5 to 10 days.

If specialized testing has been ordered, results may take 7 to 15 days.

How long does it take to receive radiology results?

Radiology turnaround times vary depending on the facility where the test was performed.

In most cases, we receive the radiologist’s final report within 4 to 10 days.

Once received, your provider will review the results and contact you if follow up is necessary.

How will I receive my results?

Your provider will review your lab and radiology results. Our office will contact you when follow-up is needed.

If you would like to discuss your results with a provider, please schedule an appointment.
