FAQ's about Medications

What is the process for obtaining a medication refill?
If you are taking a chronic medication, and have been to see us within the last 6 months, we can give you a refill. You can email us, message us, or call us to request this.

If you have not been here in the last 6 months, or need a new medication, or an acute medication (i.e. antibiotics, pain medication etc), please make an appointment to see us!

How long does it take to get a medication?
Our medication department works diligently on medication requests throughout the day. Generally, we will get to your request within 24 hours however it may be delayed if we need authorization from a provider. We will call or email you if we have any questions.

Please note, this does not include medications that require a prior - authorization from your insurance company. This may take significantly longer.

What is a prior authorization?
Insurance companies often require a prior-authorization on medications that are more expensive (i.e. Branded medications etc). The doctor will need to review your chart and submit a request for this medication to be covered. Please note that  sometimes it takes 7-14 business days before the insurance company will notify us of a decision.
