What is the process for obtaining a medication refill?
If you are taking a chronic medication and have had an appointment with us within the last six months, we can provide a refill. You may email, message, or call us to request this.
If you haven’t been seen in the last six months or need a new or acute medication (e.g., antibiotics, pain medication), please schedule an appointment.
How long does it take to receive a medication?
Our medication department processes requests throughout the day. We generally address requests within 24 hours, though there may be delays if provider authorization is needed. We will call or email if we have any questions.
Note: This timeframe does not apply to medications requiring prior authorization from your insurance company, which may take significantly longer.
What is a prior authorization?
Insurance companies often require prior authorization for certain medications, typically those that are higher-cost (e.g., branded medications). The doctor will review your chart and submit a request for coverage. Please allow 7–14 business days for the insurance company to provide a decision.
